My Terms of Service

The following guidelines are set in place to create an easy design process for both you and I. Please read them before placing an order!

Copyright

All designs created by me are copyright and property of Dirt and Lace Designs, and are protected by the Fair Use and Commercial Use Copyright Protection Law.

You may not copy, alter, or share any part of your design. If you alter your design, please make sure my design credit reflects that appropriately.

You may not use my designs to create new layouts, websites, or print designs.

I put a lot of time, effort, and thought into the designs that I create. If you want to use my idea or part of what I have created to make something else, please talk to me about it first.

If you make changes and are not sure whether you should leave my credit up, feel free to e-mail me.

Communication
All communication is done through e-mail. During the design process, please check your e-mail often and respond as quickly as possible to all questions. The longer you take to respond, the longer it is going to take for me to finish your design. I work on a first-come first-served basis, so if you are holding me up I will have to move on to the next in line and it may take me twice as long to get your design finished. If I have notified you that I am ready to begin your design or I am actively working on your design, and I do not hear from you for 3 consecutive business days, I will move on to the next person who is waiting and you will be moved down the list.

Payment
I only accept PayPal payments. No personal checks or money orders. Your full payment is expected at the beginning of the design process, unless otherwise stated.

Refunds
Due to the nature of this business, I do not issue any refunds for any reason.

Turn-around Time
The turn-around time for your blog design varies. It can be as quick as 1-2 days, or as long as 1-2 weeks, depending on how many designs I am working on, and what all you have ordered. For an estimated turnaround time, just ask me when you place your order! I try to work as efficiently as possible, but I do have two small children, so some days I do not get done what I may have intended to. I do try to work on more than one blog at one time, so keep that in mind.

Design Process and Changing Your Mind
Sometimes things do not look the way we imagine, and that is fine. Every step of the design process takes time and effort. I try my best to make everything to your specifications and create a professional, one-of-a-kind look. If you decide you do not like the look you asked for or the kit you chose and I have already created the design, I reserve the right to charge you for the time I already spent at the a la carte pricing for each item I have finished for you already before creating your new design.

Installation
I will install all templates and elements that I have created. I do not provide clients with the template code or separate files for their design, such as headers or labels, due to copyrights. I assure you that any log-in information provided to me for installation purposes will not be shared or stored. If you are not comfortable with me logging into your account, you may add me as an administrator to your Blogger account during the installation process. I believe that trust between the client and myself is vital for open communication and the best results. If you have any concerns, please let me know.

Design Style
Please make sure that prior to placing an order you have looked through my portfolio to get an idea of my design style. I do my best to create designs that my clients love and are what they envision, but if what you envision is something that I feel does not represent my abilities well or does not look clean and professional, I will not feel comfortable putting my name to it. Please be sure to share your vision and ideas for your design up front and as clearly as possible so that we can discuss any details or issues that may arise.

Design Credit
When I complete your design, I will add a graphic/text giving credit to Dirt and Lace Designs, and any digital designers that I used, to the bottom of your sidebar and/or text on your footer. This must be left on your blog when using my design. You may move the graphic/text around wherever you want, but please keep it visible and do not alter it in any way.
